Let's Get Sketchy!

Have any of you heard of the new sketch blog called "Let's Get Sketchy"? It is a brand new site and they are looking for people to work with their sketches. I figured I would give it a shot and see what happens! I always welcome an opportunity to be inspired by other scrappers! Here's my submission layout as well as the sketch. Everyday Wishes by JennCK Designs

Now that JennCK is exclusive to Gotta Pixel she is super busy re-releasing some of her great kits. Here's a couple of layouts that I did using her Everyday Wishes kit. The colors as well as the slight grunge look worked perfect for these pictures of my little one and his buddy, EJ. His Mom and I took them to the Creek over the weekend for some fun in the sun! Random Acts of Kindness & Freebie

For over 33 years Jesus walked the earth blessing people with messages of compassionate giving and love. In honor of his love and kindness, the Women's Ministry at my church is hosting a "33 Random Acts of Kindness" event for the month of February. What better way to share who is Jesus is than to love people. Throughout the month we will be doing a minimum of 33 random acts of kindness. The church provided the necessary tags needed for this event, but Michael and I decided to get a little creative and run wild with it. We came up with our own tags and packaged up the goodies using red, pink, & turquoise. He understands what we are doing and is very excited about giving out "prizes" to other people. To this day I remember growing up helping my parents run the Hunger Ministry at our church and I am thankful for the impact that had on me. I'm praying that involving Michael in these type of events does the same for him. Here's some of the acts of kindness that we will be doing as well as some pictures.

Place baby wipes and/or diapers in a public restroom for another mother
Place goody bags with playdoh, bubbles, and candy inside them on park benches
Pay for the person's food behind us in the drive-thru
Leave $1 bills attached to toys in the Dollar Store and also attach them to the front of vending machines
Leave soft drinks, bottled water, chewing gum, and hand sanitizer at various public locations
Leave plastic candy hearts full of candy in the children's area at a Doctor's office

I used the Print & Cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo to create these tags. The tag is one of Lori Whitlock's 6 labels (6_labels_C01209_20509) and the digital art is from Just So Scrappy's Love You kit. Here's some FREE coordinating Valentine themed cupcake toppers that I created using this same kit. Just print on your home printer and cut out using a scallop or other shaped punch!

As soon as I saw JennCK Design's new Year Of The Dragon kit I knew exactly what I was going to use it for! Although the theme of the kit wasn't something that I had pictures for, the colors were screaming "FSU" at me over and over again! Not only could these colors pass for FSU colors, but they could also pass for Bama as well (Less the gold of course!). Why The Name Change?

Change is a good thing, right? Most of us probably try to run as far away from change as we possibly can, don't we? I know I'm guilty of having done so on more than one occasion! You've probably noticed the change on my blog by now. Not only did the decor change, but so did my blog name. The main reason for the change is because I have felt for quite some time now that the name didn't encompass everything that my blog did. Sure, it covered the scrapbooking part of it, but it didn't quite cover the other fun and crafty things that we as a family like to do. It also didn't cover the most important characteristic of who I am. I'm not just blessed, but I am "Creatively Blessed". How so you might ask? Not only did God create me in His own image, he has also blessed my life in countless ways. That's what makes me "Creatively Blessed".

Speaking of blessings, I've been busy this week spending time with the biggest blessing of all, my little one. We've had slot car races and coloring sessions nearly every day this week and have even had a few closet flashlight shows! All of which bring nothing but pure joy into my heart! I'm not sure how we managed life without this little dude but I'm sure glad that the Lord loaned him to us! See you soon with some layouts!

This weather here in the Panhandle of Florida is CRAZY!!!! We started the week with temperatures in the low 20s and ended it with flip flops and 70s. As crazy as it is, it's home and all that I know. Here's an adorable new kit from A-Manda Creation called Let's Skate. Because I don't have any photos that are snow themed I decided that I'd do a couple of hybrid projects. All of the papers as well as the penguin are elements of Amanda's Let's Skate kit. Here's my birthday themed project; a tower of gift boxes! I used Echo Park's Life Is Good papers and used the cutting file for box number 6 of the Silhouette Advent Calendar. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

I'm happy to report that I'm 100% done with the layouts from our trip to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party! Something that makes me even happier is the fact that today I received and email from Shutterfly with a coupon code for a FREE 8x8 photo book! I guess that means I'll be placing my order tonight!!!! For these pages I used Connie Prince's Main Street Magic kit as well as a couple of elements from her I Heart Christmas Kit to add a hint of Christmas. If you are looking for a Disney themed kit then Main Street Magic is the perfect one! In doing these pages I did something that I don't recall ever doing. On 99% of my layouts I used predeco pages as my starting point and then flipped it around for the corresponding page. I am more than pleased with how these turned out and can't wait to get my little one's photo book printed. Here they are...

We aren't big time party goers or anything but we definitely enjoy throwing our own little parties at home! That's exactly what we did today to celebrate the arrival of a new year! The little one and I whipped up some adorable little party items using my Cameo. He had a hat, banner, as well as some little party props! Here's the party animal himself celebrating the arrival of 2012!

I used it to create a double page spread of my little man sporting his Policeman uniform. As always, I had to do a photo shoot of him in his costume before we headed to our Church's Fall Festival this year. He was so proud that his Daddy let him wear one of his extra badges! Mickey Christmas Wreath

Here's another Mickey themed craft project we've been working on...a Christmas wreath for our camper door. It is decked out with all things Mickey & Minnie as well as a camper that looks very similar to ours! Of course the color isn't anywhere close, but the style of the camper itself is. As usual my little crafting buddy helped me with every bit of it. I created the camper from scratch in the Silhouette Design Studio and then created the Mickey silhouettes using a circle from Lori Whitlock's Gingerbread House. Mickey's gloves and Minnie's hair bows are felt embroidered pieces that I had a friend make for me. We added some shimmer to the Mickey silhouettes and then hot glued everything on to the wreath. The little red ornament balls are from Michaels (They were $.99 for a pack of 12). The font used for our name on the camper is none other than my favorite, Howser. Enjoy!

Silhouette Advent Calendar

I know all of you must think that I've fallen off the face of the blogging world, but I haven't! We've just been busy catching up and preparing for the upcoming holidays! I finally got around to snapping some pictures of my completed Silhouette Advent Calendar. Instead of creating a Christmas themed advent we created a Mickey themed one first! This project was so much fun to make with my 3.5 year old. Not only does he understand what it's all about, but he chose where most of the colors went and helped decorate all of the different pieces. The best part was definitely loading it up will all of the daily goodies. For me, the decision to make the drawers instead of the boxes was a simple one to make. I figured that the little fingers around our house would be more likely to enjoy opening and closing the drawers instead! Here's our calendar and we are excited to say that we are running out of days very fast...

For the Mickey heads I used one of the circles from Lori Whitlock's Gingerbread House (the larger lollipop) and welded them together and then re-sized accordingly prior to cutting. I also used one of Lori's labels for some of drawer fronts. The font used for the numbers and letters is called Howser and I printed most of them at 75pt. Again, this was a super fun project and I can't wait to get started on our Christmas one VERY soon! If I had done this project all alone I probably would have spent quite a bit more time embellishing it but I love the simplicity of it. After all, a 3.5 year old did do most of the decorating! Whew!!!! What a crazy couple of weeks it has been! We've traveled, played, and even had the crud together! Thankfully everyone seems to be on the other side of the crud. Now it's time to play catch up on everything and get back into the swing of things. Here's a couple of pages of photos that I scrapped of myself and the little guy! I really love how they turned out and am thankful for the sweet friend that took the pictures for us! I used A-Manda Creation's new kit called The Nutcraker. It was the perfect kit to get me geared up and ready for the holidays! Gingerbread Village & Freebie

Well it's official...we've already started decorating for Christmas at our house! I know, call us crazy but we love it so much that we make every attempt to enjoy it as long as we possibly can. Along with starting the decorating also came Christmas crafts. Our first craft for this year were three gingerbread houses. This was my first 3D project other than simple boxes and I am already hooked. This gingerbread house file from Lori Whitlock is both simple and totally adorable! It was so much fun to assemble and decorate with my little man. We lined the windows and doors with wax paper and then cut holes in the bottom of each house for a battery operated tea light candle to fit inside perfectly! In fact the little guy loves them so much so that we had to bag them up (candles and all) for him to take along with him to my parents' house for the day! This explains why I don't have a picture of them at night! LOL! Stay tuned for our next Silhouette Cameo project...an advent calendar!

Here's my first "real" Silhouette Cameo project! I've been itching to try the Print and Cut feature ever since my machine came in over a week ago. Now that we are back from a week of camping I've been busy creating. My Silhouette Cameo Is Here & Freebie!!!

I was beginning to think that I'd NEVER get my hands on the oh so coveted Cameo, but I finally did!!! Due to the timing of our vacation as well as the delivery of the machine I've yet to play around with it as much as I had hoped. However I must confess that I did grab it on our way out of town and tuck it safely inside our camper. Since I figured that in itself was pushing the limits with the hubby I didn't dare suggest that I also take my printer along. Instead I just played around with my laptop and the Cameo. Within minutes I was on my way to cutting away at pumpkin paper piecings for my little one's preschool class. Needless to say I am in love with this machine already! I can't wait to get the camper cleaned out and stuff put away in the house so that I can get busy playing some more. Stay tuned to see what's in store from me and my Cameo! Miracle Strip at Pier Park & Freebie

The memory of my little man continually blows my mind! The very minute my husband informed him that my birthday was soon approaching he started jumping up and down and said "Hooray we're going to have Mommy's birthday at Pier Park!" How in the world he remembers that we did that last year is just crazy. Anyways, that's exactly what we did. We headed out to Pier Park for dinner at Five Guys and then an evening full of rides at the little amusement park there. I could not have asked for a better birthday that an evening full of fun times with my husband, little miracle, and my parents. It seems as though we may have started a tradition and the little one is already looking forward to next year. For these layouts I used a cute kit by Jady Day Studio called In For The Ride. Oh and if you don't mind, just overlook the horrible picture of me in my glasses!!! After three weeks of having an infection and being without contacts, I was finally able to put them back in yesterday! At the end of this post you'll see a FREEBIE word art piece. Pumpkin Patch Visit #1

I just love this time of year and wish that it could either be Fall or Christmas year round!!! The little guy really enjoys it as well and to be honest he really doesn't have a choice. I do everything possible to make this time of year fun! Here's a couple of layouts of our first trip to the pumpkin patch for this year. I left with a ton of great pictures of him but my most favorite is definitely the ones I got of him paying for the pumpkins. He was just too cute pulling his big boy wallet out and counting the cash as he gave it to the lady. Proud was an understatement of what I felt as he counted out the correct number of dollars and paid! I was thrilled to be able to use Amanda's Pick of the Patch kit again and had so much fun doing so. I also used one of the word art pieces from the coordinating word art pack that I created. Super Boy & Freebies

We are lucky to still have my husband's Superman cape from when he was a little guy. His Aunt made it for him and it has gotten plenty of use since then. I bet she never imagined just how much use it would really get. Although there are a couple of tears and rips in it, it still does the job. The little one instantly turns into a super hero that saves the world over and over again! Here he is strutting his stuff. The background paper is from a kit from Jady Day Studio called The Little Steam Engine. I've also got a couple of freebies for you today. I've got a sheet of pumpkin cupcake toppers as well as the Storybook Creator/Artisan template for the same toppers. Pool Time

Tuscany by JennCK Designs

I love taking a kit and making something totally different then what it was meant to be used for. That's exactly what I did with JennCK's re-release of Tuscany. I took these pictures of my little one back in August but had not yet found the kit that I wanted to use with them. This kit worked perfect though! I wanted to use green but didn't want to use the green like his boots. Here he is playing in some puddles in the yard after a heavy downpour. Oh man I could just eat him up!!! The wording I used for these layouts is taken from Blake Shelton's new song called "God Gave Me You". I just love the words and they are so true! Fall Cube Decor & Freebie

I can hardly wait until my Silhouette Cameo arrives this week! Until then I'm stuck with hand cutting everything! It wouldn't be so bad if I could cut in a straight line! Oh well, I don't think that will ever happen!!! Here's two cute cubes that the little guy and I decorated and assembled. I used the Fabulous Fall kit by Crazy-4-Monograms. My most favorite thing about the kit is most definitely the black crow. I added a flower to her hair to make her a "her" and just fell in love! It being my first attempt at assembling such boxes I was pleased with the outcome. What I wasn't pleased with is how my little one decided to play football with both of them. Luckily I was able to mend them enough to get a few pictures. So If you see imperfections like busted seems and smashed corners, just remember that they were used in a game of football by a three year old! Enjoy! The adorable kits just keep coming! Here's another new one from JennCK Designs called Midnight. It is for sale over at Scrapbook Bytes and there's a free coordinating paper pack with the purchase of the kit. As some of you probably know, we are not big Halloween fans around our house. In fact, we don't like it all. We tend to dwell on the pumpkin aspect of things and refer to it as Happy Pumpkin Day instead of Halloween. No worries though as the little one isn't missing out on a thing. We still participate in many alternatives to Halloween provided by both our church as well as his preschool. Since we also don't believe it ghosts or monsters, being in any of the retail stores lately has proven to be very interesting. Now when we go into stores he says "Mommy those things aren't real and I can't be scared by them!". Anyways, here's a layout I managed to get by with doing. I really like this particular picture of him as well as the other hundred or so that I got of him Sunday afternoon! I discovered a little place in the woods across from our house that is PERFECT for pictures nearly any time of day. The bushes and trees do a great job of filtering the sunlight!

Link Up For Pink

Until about three weeks ago the idea of breast cancer had never really affected anyone in my family. That all changed when I found a place of concern while doing a self exam. To make a long story short, At 33 years of age I had a mammogram, ultrasound, and MRI done within just a couple of days. During that time of waiting for the results we found ourselves in a state of shock as well as disbelief. It was almost as if life was literally on "hold" until we had some answers. We are believers and know that our God is good and that He carries us through every trial. Throughout this time there was one verse that kept coming to my mind on a daily basis. It was Psalm 46:10 that reads "Bet still and know that I am God." Each time it came back up I immediately felt utter peace. Sure, there were times when that peace only lasted for a second and then I was back to worrying, but I know without a doubt that it was peace from my Heavenly Father. After about a week (aka a lifetime) of waiting, we finally got the results that we were hoping and praying for. Everything was completely normal and I was going to be okay! Praise God!!! I am thankful that God carried us through this situation because it has definitely helped put things in perspective for me! Here's a layout I did which I will have printed and mount to a canvas. The kit I used for this project is from Trixie Scraps called Courage, Hope & Strength . Please know that I will be praying for those already suffering from this disease!

Live For Today

Before introducing you to a new beautiful kit, don't forget to head over to my Facebook Fan Page to "Like" it. Here's another layout of a picture of my little guy back in 2009 that I absolutely love. I'm not sure why, but I do! The kit I used is called Live For Today by Connie Prince. Head on over to Gotta Pixel to check it out! Although this is the last kit that I used as a guest member of her creative team, it definitely won't be the last one I use as she is one of my favorite designers! I look forward to her new releases like a kid in a candy shop! It won't be long and I'll be back on her team as a guest! That's right, I got invited back to be a guest in March 2012!!! Not only that, but I also got put on the waiting list for a permanent position!

It isn't often that I get to play around with girly kits, but when I do it feels so weird. It may be weird but I have so much fun doing so! Here's a picture of my niece Madison that I took while she was playing in our kiddie pool. She is such a blessing to our family and so very fun to be around! I used a kit from JennCK Designs called Dahlia. Head on over to Scrapbook Bytes to check it out! Oh and for those that are wondering, I just recently made it onto JennCK's creative team! I was so excited to find out that I was accepted and am already having so much fun! Since I'm on the subject of CT's, remember how I was a guest CT member for Connie Prince last month? Two of the ladies got asked back for March 2011 and I was one of those ladies! Not only that, but I was also added to the waiting list to be a permanent member!!! I can hardly wait! I love it when I complete layouts with older pictures. Not only does it take me back down memory lane but it also gets me closer to my goal of getting those 3 months from 2009 scrapped!
